the "now and then" journey spanned over fifty years, thanks to the four beatles' interaction and collaboration, which apparently continues forever. john lennon's legendary demo got some attention from paul, george, and ringo during the beatles anthology project in february '95, but didn't quite make it due to tricky technical issues. vocals recorded by john in '70 were trapped on tape for ages. it felt like the song would never see the light of day. but then, in 2022, some magic software by peter jackson and team (from the get back documentary) miraculously separated john's voice from the piano. suddenly, the original recordings were resurrected and remastered with all four beatles. quite the tale of musical archaeology, showcasing the beatles' never-ending creative curiosity and tech obsession. it's also apparently the final recording from john, paul, george, and ringo together, marking the legacy of this supposedly significant band in popular music history.
